Hey, she's a lady..

  • Make over make over

So I permed my hair. And get meself Cleopatra bangs. Like, Wohoo OMG?

Nothing to shout about actually, really. It is just that I thought a change would do me good. Yeah, since I am gonna change my job anyway. Oppsie, I accidentally blurted it out. Hee hee.

Ah screw it, I am just so THRILLED to start a new year with a new job, new office and new hair.

I dun wanna start complaining about my new hairdo YET. And I dun wanna think much about mom's reaction when she saw me last night during our so-called girls' night out karaoke session. Today is just my first day wearing it, and according to Mr. Hairstylist, I need to wait for at least 3 days for the hair chemical thingamajigs to really penetrate into my hair keratine before I wash it off, and the moment I do, I (and everyone in this planet) would go oooh-la-laaa..

More picas of me and my new hair next time. Later guys. I am off to attend Matt's brother's wedding.

  • Singles Night Out

I did wear my Lancome mascara last Friday night (which I bought early last year but seldom use) and oh boy, did it make me feel fab. The rest of the girls dressed up to the nines and it was hard not to capture the moment. So for the first time ever, these are our clubbing photos.

I left the girls around 3 something because I had a job calling which required 100% soberness first thing in the morning and thank God, it went well. I felt bloody good man. The key to a good life is balance, oh yes, work hard, party hard and sleep hard baby. hehehe.

So yeah, that was it for Friday night. Last night, I invited Olet to join me and my parents for dinner at Waterfront and funny that she, whose profession dealing with sick people (literally) ended up lecturing my parents about healthy eating and surgical procedures. :p After my parents left, instead of going for a movie as planned, we, just the two of us, hit Cocoon bar and had an amazingly fun night. It is always flatterring having guys throwing appreciative glances/offering a round of drinks/etc when you least expect it to happen, especially when ure clad simple non-clubbing outfits.

To conclude, I had fun two nights in a row. And it is Monday again. Bleargh.

  • 2007 Birthday Bash (delayed) Entry

I and NJ's joint-birthday bash was fantastic. The girls and fellow friends were happy. I learned few things from the event, which are:

    1. I could never look gorgeous with curly hair (it was okay initially but as soon as I start to dance, the sweat weighed my hair down making me look like a witch with a faux hairdo)
    2. I need more than half and hour to prettify myself prior to a big occasion (I forgot to put on finishing powder, super black jet eyeliner for a smoky effect and my biggest regret was not be bothered to wear mascara at all)

The thing was I overslept (yeah I landed my curled hair on the pillow, so what I was damn exhausted) and was late for my own birthday party. And everyone thought I was being fashionably late. Yeah right.

About 30 of me and NJ’s friends and family members came to the party and from my side, I had my siblings and their other halves, fellow friends and ex-schoolmates (no date at all). The dress code was supposedly red or white or red and white but to my disappointment, I am surrounded by born rulebreakers.

Okay I just wanna get over with this. So here are the pics.

We hit another club later on and my brothers got themselves into troubles and being a good sister that I am, I spent the night at Queen Elizabeth Hospital. I reached our (me and the girls) rented hotel room around 6am and slept like a log.

  • My first entry of 2008

My New Year Eve celebration was nothing like what I imagined. It was waaaaaaay better.

I wasn't much on the adventurous side to hit the dance floor so I decided to go all simple and laid back with tshirt and jeans and pointed pumps. Oh, and a cowboy hat to add the I-am-celebrating-something look.

    DSC070371.jpg

My girls had their own family/job agendas, my brother Adi is in KL to celebrate his New Year there while my sister had a dance show at one of the hotels in KK - leaving me with my bro Ian, the girlfriend and few friends. They wanted to get wasted while karaoke-ing but unfortunately we couldn't get a room. So we had our countdown at Cocoon open bar.

    DSC070721.jpg

From there, I could here music pumping out loud from inside Cocoon and every inch of my body was aching to move with the beats. Coincidently I bumped into a friend who happened to go inside so I decided to excuse myself when my brother and friends headed to Upperstar for more drinks (you can't buy drinks by bottle at Cocoon open bar). I wasn't really dressed up for the occasion but it wasn't really a big deal for me. Coyote Ugly is one of my favorite movies, if you know what I mean.

    DSC070831.jpg

I had fun dancing with the girls and my sis (yeah she was there too) before the bloke came. After he came, I had super fun.  Next, we hit Blue Note, had more fun until I received a text from the bloke suggesting a stroll by the beach.

    Oh so romantic. Not. :/

There were too many people there, mostly youngsters and mobs, and my heels were killing me. Other than my hair was a real mess and I was sweating pig from all the dancing and crowd, everything was perfectperfectperfect. I take it as a good kickass sign to start a new year.

Anyways, let me share with you guys my new mantra of the year:

Love isn't suppose to change anything, it adds something. (superdez)

I hope that SOMETHING means either (a) colors to the world (b) bubbles to the feelings (c) sparks to the senses (d) music to the soul (e) all mentioned. To be brutally honest, I am expecting (e) but I hope God understands that I am NOT greed-driven ya. I am just plain optimistic. Dating Falling in love is really on my agenda this year and I think you should too...

I guess that's it for now. Be good and smile like you mean it. Happy New Year folks ;)

  • I'll try to update more often

    I am digging this song!!

Julianne is a talented singer songwriter from Phillippines. If you are a Christian, you gotta love her as most of her songs are composed lyrically religious in subtle and honest ways. Oh no no she's not preaching about Christianity but the message of her songs are downright beautiful. The vid below is my personal favorite.

    Peace and glory.

Cry Baby Cry (The Beatles Cover)

     Cry baby cry
    Make your mother sigh
She's old enough to know better.

The king of Marigold was in the kitchen
    Cooking breakfast for the queen
The queen was in the parlour
Playing piano for the children of the king.

    Cry baby cry
    Make your mother sigh
She's old enough to know better
    So cry baby cry.

The king was in the garden
Picking flowers for a friend who came to play
The queen was in the playroom
Painting pictures for the childrens holiday.

    Cry baby cry
    Make your mother sigh
She's old enough to know better
    So cry baby cry.

The duchess of Kircaldy always smiling
    And arriving late for tea
    The duke was having problems
With a message at the local bird and bee.

    Cry baby cry
    Make your mother sigh
She's old enough to know better
    So cry baby cry.

At twelve o'clock a meeting round the table
For a seance in the dark
    With voices out of nowhere
Put on specially by the children for a lark.

    Cry baby cry
    Make your mother sigh
She's old enough to know better
    So cry baby cry
    Make your mother sigh.

She's old enough to know better
    Cry baby cry
    Make your mother sigh
She's old enough to know better
    So cry baby cry...

  • I am a free woman

I am no longer addicted to FB. My guess is the 'world', which driven by a superb A&P team and social-deprived lunatics, exaggerates how much it can affect one's life. Look at me, one wicked shopping trip with the girls, followed by one mini-skirt-3-inches-heels-wearing wild party night followed by a decent anti-koguts food hunting trip the day after are enough to unwind me from the spell.

What spell you ask? This spell.

Scary, isn't it? Thank God I am no longer addicted to FB. Hurray!!!

There are lots of reasons not to succumb into FB addiction. Firstly, Human Pet doesn't substitute dating and thus even if it feeds my hungry soul temporarily, it got me into wi-fights with total strangers who thinks I have the super Hero Abilities to read their bloke's secrets and influence them into falling in love with me instead.

Secondly, although I love love love love this application sooooo much, Polyvore is not helping me with decluttering my room nor aiding in wardrobe management at all. Moreover, I found myself splurging in a fatally gorgeous dress just because I've used the look-alike dress in one of my many Polyvore sets - when I need that money to renew my passport. What was I thinking? Living my FB world? Urgh..

Thirdly, it hurts my back as normally I lie pronate on bed while surfing, and it got my shoulder hunched up and my breast flattened on the bed, which is bad for my already bad posture.

And last but not least, I think I am wasting my life away.

Goodbye facebook, hello again real world.
